About

First released in Los Angeles in 1998, dArt International magazine began by covering contemporary art in New York, Los Angeles, and Toronto. The inspiration for the magazine came from Steve Rockwell’s 1995 narrative performance piece Meditations on Space, that consisted of 175 visits to art galleries in Switzerland, France, the United States, and Canada. Other works that have a conceptual basis are Color Match GameThe Steve Rockwell Sandwich and dArt Burger. Color Match games continue to be played in tournaments across North America. Essentially, dArt is about the making of art, its exhibition, and what we can say about it.
